How It Works

Ace Addicts is powered by a purpose-built on-course camera and connectivity system designed for golf environments.

Each nominated hole can be supported by a solar-powered smart camera kit, wireless bridge connectivity, a dedicated network video recorder, local storage and QR-enabled signage. This allows us to connect the physical golf course with the Ace Addicts digital platform, without the need for major trenching, power upgrades or disruption to the club.

Solar-Powered Smart Camera Kit

Our nominated holes are fitted with a commercial-grade Hikvision solar camera system. The camera captures high-quality video from the tee area and is supported by an integrated solar panel and battery system, allowing it to operate in areas where traditional power is not easily available.

The system is designed to capture key player moments, including the setup, swing, shot direction and overall activity on the sponsored hole.

The camera model you have listed is part of Hikvision’s solar-powered range, with a 4MP camera, solar panel and rechargeable lithium battery configuration. Hikvision also lists this range as supporting features such as remote 4G transmission, battery management and weather-resistant operation.

Wireless Course Connectivity

To transmit footage securely across the course, the system uses wireless bridge technology. This allows the camera location to connect back to the recording system or network without running long cables across fairways, paths or landscaped areas.

Depending on the course layout, the system can use either short-range or long-range wireless bridges. The 1KM wireless bridge listed supports up to 1 km transmission and 300 Mbps wireless connectivity, while the 5KM bridge option is designed for longer-distance outdoor transmission.

Secure Video Recording

Footage is recorded through a dedicated Hikvision network video recorder. This gives Ace Addicts and participating venues a secure way to store, review and verify footage from nominated holes.

The NVR listed is an 8-channel PoE network video recorder, meaning it can support multiple camera inputs as the system expands across more holes or locations. Hikvision lists the unit as supporting up to 8 IP camera inputs, modern video formats including H.265/H.264 and up to 128 Mbps incoming bandwidth.

Local Storage

A dedicated hard drive is installed inside the recording system to store footage securely. This allows player moments, jackpot entries and sponsored hole activity to be reviewed when required.

QR Signage and Player Activation

Players interact with the Ace Addicts experience through QR-enabled signage placed at the nominated sponsored hole.

They scan, enter and play their normal shot. From there, the camera system captures the moment while the Ace Addicts platform manages the digital engagement, competition entry and future rewards experience.

Built for AI and Future Shot Verification

The technology has been selected with future AI capability in mind. Over time, the system will support features such as swing capture, shot verification, ball tracking, player-generated content, challenge validation and sponsor engagement.

This gives clubs a smarter way to activate selected holes while keeping the traditional round of golf exactly as it is.
